Description:Accounting ManagerAMPS (Amethod Public Schools) is a

our mission.POSITION SUMMARYThe Accounting Manager directs the
day-to-day activities of multiple specialized sectionswithin the
Accounting Department and is responsible for and controls
accounting recordsand financial transactions for Home Office
(District) and six school sites.Working under the direction of the
Director of Finance, the ideal Accounting Managercandidate will
possess a comprehensive understanding of accounting practices
andprocedures and experience in governmental accounting and/or
auditing governmentalagencies to lead a complex financial operation
and provide direction in the development ofaccounting controls for
the AMPS. He/she will possess a strategic mindset to plan for
thefuture given the ever-changing landscape of Charter School
Finance. The AccountingManager must maintain focus on achieving the
main goals and objectives of the AccountingDepartment despite
unexpected shifts in priorities and deadlines.This position
requires on-site presence 100% of the time - telecommuting
(WFH)arrangements are not available. Please do not apply if you are
unable to meet thiscommitment.Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:Must effectively carry out the essential duties
and responsibilities of this position in a mannerthat consistently
demonstrates the AMPS mission and core values. Other duties may
beassigned.Category? Oversee and manage the general accounting
functions, including, but not limited to:accounts payable, accounts
receivable, general ledger, and taxes? Manage full cycle AR for all
billing and cash receipts for the Schools and Home
Office(District)? Prepare and oversee month and year-end close for
financial reporting? Direct, review, and facilitate financial and
school audits, including the preparation ofthe Financial
Reports.Rev: MRSJ 3_9_23? Assess current practices and procedures,
and make recommendations forimprovements? Develops and implements
internal controls? Understands and applies GAAP and non-profit
accounting? Maintains the general ledger? Prepare, review, and
analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy andcompleteness?
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, monthly budget reports and
ad hoc reporting,as requested? Supervise and/or manage general
ledger accounting functions and processes? Reviews and analyzes
finances? Ensures compliance with regulations? Partner with budget
managers and stakeholders including, but not limited to
provideaccounting education to support budget managers, maintain
strong employeerelationships, and assist with timely and accurate
financial reporting. works closelywith budget managers to provide
accurate and complete financial reporting? Work with external
auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting
atyear-end? Periodic grant and cash management reports? Manages the
Accounts Payable AssociateQUALIFICATIONS AND TRAITSRequired:?
Bachelor's degree or Equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or
BusinessAdministration? Five years of professional-level experience
in accounting or governmental field-auditing work, including three
years of governmental accounting or governmentalfield auditing
experience and supervision of professional accounting personnel.?
Detailed knowledge of US Federal, State and local payroll tax
laws.? 2-3 years hands on functional Payroll experience OR
equivalent.? Previous Experience with NetSuite and Paylocity is
highly preferred? Strong planning, organizational and time
management skills, as well as attention todetail and strong
analytical problem-solving skills.? Possess a comprehensive
understanding of accounting practices and procedures andexperience
in governmental accounting and/or auditing governmental agencies
tolead a complex financial operation? The ideal candidate has
strong decision-making skills and not only can identify issuesbut
present pragmatic solutions.? Must have strong communication skills
(both written and oral) with the ability topresent accounting and
financial concepts and procedures to staff, including theDirector
of Finance? Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office especially
Excel and Word.Rev: MRSJ 3_9_23PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS--- Prolonged
periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.--- Required
to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as
keyboarding,machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.---
Talking and hearing and understanding speech at a reasonable
volume.--- Near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color
vision/field of vision.--- Reading printed matter and computer
screens.--- Bending, twisting, stooping and reaching.--- Required
to exert physical effort in handling objects (Lift, carry, push
and/or pull up)up to twenty pounds rarely.--- Must be able to
access and navigate each department at the organization's
