Richmond, CA AAK USA Richmond's plant is located in northern
California in the San Francisco Bay area.About the role The
maintenance mechanic is involved in the successful daily completion
of assigned work either on a priority basis or continuing basis as
assigned by the Maintenance and Reliability Manager. There are no
formal reports for this position with the exception of work
documentation as required to document material and equipment
requests as pertinent to the job.Responsibilities Perform various
mechanical maintenance functions to include but is not limited to:
-Insulation-Repair rotating equipment including centrifugal and
positive displacement pumps, agitators, cooling fans and gear
boxes-Heat exchangers including the over pressure
protection.-Installing and repairing pipe work, both screwed and
welded, in stainless and carbon steel.-Repairs to all types of
valves and pneumatic actuators.-Steam distribution equipment and
condensate collection.-Basic Welding-Knowledge of plant utilities
such as boilers, cooling towers, compressors and wastewater
treatment.-Basic electrical ability. Wiring 3-phase motor, change
fuses, ability to use a multi-meter.About you 3 plus years of
proven maintenance experience in an industrial environment is
required.High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is
preferred.Detail orientedSkilled in the use of hand and power
tools.Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic
testing devices.Ability to troubleshoot and take apart machines,
equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.Ability
to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as
necessary.Experience performing routine and preventative
maintenance.Strong time management and organizational
skills.Detail-orientedProfessional presentation and attitudeWorking
conditionsThe job is performed in a manufacturing plant. Exposure
to loud noises, dust, dirt, heat, sparks, oil, and smoke may occur.
Protective safety equipment is required including appropriate
clothing, shoes, gloves, hardhat, and goggles as needed. Activities
include extended periods of standing and extensive work with
various devices and heavy machinery.Physical requirements Ability
to frequently climb ladders up to 15 feetAbility to frequently
walk, stand, crouch, stoop, and bendAbility to perform duties
wearing weight restricted safety equipment is requiredHearing and
vision within normal ranges for conversations and to receive
ordinary informationHeavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.Good manual
dexterity to operate machinery, use hand tools and measuring tools,
