WHAT YOU'LL DO
An optical system can be affected by a variety of environmental
factors - vibration, shock, temperature, pressure, molecular and
particle contamination. The Contamination Control Engineer will
drive the implementation and preservation of the molecular and
particle contamination and cleanliness standards for our highly
sensitive EUV optics, optical equipment, and facilities.
-- Implement cleanliness protocol to uphold contamination control
requirements for the program.
-- Be the point of contact between customers/stakeholders for any
contamination control issues.
-- Investigate and troubleshoot facility issues, system anomalies,
and material restrictions related to contamination control.
-- Develop handling protocol and best-known methods for materials
(for construction of tools, facilities, etc.) following the
contamination control standards.
-- Research and investigate particulate shedding and outgassing
characteristics for new materials.
-- Provide input on contamination control features on product
designs.
-- Identify contamination risks within the facilities and
products.
-- Evaluate, review, and validate vendor capabilities for
maintaining cleanliness protocol.
-- Support cross-functional teams in design, development,
manufacturing, assembly, and validation from a contamination
control perspective.
-- Lead personnel training related to contamination control
practices.
-- Manage multiple moving parts, activities, and requests in a
cleanroom in order to meet schedule milestones.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
-- Requires at least a BS degree from an accredited school and five
(5) years of related experience, or an MS degree from an accredited
school and four (4) years of related experience, or Ph.D. from an
accredited school and zero (0) years of related experience
-- Strong fundamental knowledge in chemistry, chemical laboratory
practices, and surface science.
-- Experience in analytical data analysis with the ability to
extract clear results from large, complex data sets.
-- Highly organized with proven multitasking skills and the ability
to work under pressure in an advanced development and production
environment.
-- Capable of reading and understanding technical requirements,
manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics.
-- Experience working in a Class 100 (or cleaner) cleanroom.
-- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal
skills.
-- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented
work environment
-- Ability to plan, manage and prioritize multiple projects is
required.
-- Proven track record in implementing control procedures and
standards.
-- Ability to apply logical, structured analysis and
problem-solving methods.
WHAT'S NICE TO HAVE
-- Preferred candidates will have:
-- a M.S./Ph.D. in Materials Engineering that focuses on
semiconductor/nanotechnology contamination control, OR
-- a degree in Chemistry or Industrial Hygiene with cleanroom
experience in semiconductor/nanotechnology contamination control
and/or clean semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or aerospace
processing, quality, and contamination control, OR
-- at least 8 years of related hands-on experience in the
contamination control and/or materials engineering field(s).
-- Preferred candidates will have experience with at least one or
more of the following:
-- Cross-contamination migration and flow modeling and applied
mathematical statistics in contamination models
-- Cleanroom operations and monitoring systems
-- ISO 14644 Cleanroom Standards and IEST recommended practices for
cleanrooms
-- Ultra-high purity inert gaseous pressure systems
-- Ultra-high purity gas purged isolators, gloveboxes, chambers,
and desiccators
-- Familiarity with analytical chemistry techniques (FT-IR, RGA,
(EGAMS), TGA/DSC, GCMS)
-- Experienced in Design of Experiment, Statistical Process
Controls, and be capable of applying statistical data analysis
method to raw data set.
-- Understanding of UHV (Ultra-High Vacuum) systems, their design,
and their components.
-- Experience with Solidworks is plus.
