through November 29th, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (PST). The I&C/IPS
Project Engineer plays a key role in the Capital Projects team to
lead technical activities with Engineering partners in support of
the Project Manager to develop, execute and deliver Instrumented
Protective Systems (IPS) and Instrumentation & Controls activities
in non-IPS projects predictably and without incident at the lowest
sustainable cost. This involves taking a lead technical role in
understanding and evaluating project functional objectives and
following through proactively to assure quality in design,
engineering and execution of work packages, interfacing throughout
the project for alignment with other groups.Responsibilities for
this position may include but are not limited to:
- Lead technical activities of assigned projects through design,
engineering, and execution.
- Provide engineering expertise for development and evaluation of
scope solution alternatives for general I&C deliverables and
results of engineering studies (e.g., Layers of Protection
Analysis) for IPS projects.
- Lead development of project design basis, preparation & review
of design deliverables and technical specifications for work
package generation.
- Support permit application, materials procurement, and
development of Inspection & Test plans.
- Support construction and serve as technical lead for testing,
commissioning & start-up of IPS and I&C project scope.
- Provide support to the refinery for SIS evaluations required by
the Management of Change (MOC) process and Independent Protection
Layer (IPL) checklists.
- Typically assigned to one or more projects with a total
installed cost ranging from $2MM to $75MM.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- Experience in Oil & Gas or related industry in
InstrumentationPreferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation
Engineering
- Brownfield project experience in a complex processing facility
with knowledge of phase-gated or agile processes
- Experience with industry standards such as ISA-84 and PHA/LOPA
process or TUV certificationRelocation Options: Relocation may be
considered. International Considerations Expatriate assignments

Area. Richmond Refinery has literally fueled Northern California

- The anticipated salary range for this position is $ 112,200 - $
256,300. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined
based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
