We are looking for a hands-on, solutions-oriented Senior Software Development Manager to lead a team of Software Development professionals in developing software which transform the way scientists use Bio-Rad products, advance scientific discoveries, and improve the quality of healthcare. In this role, you will have a passion for Software Development, a strong background in software development best practices and a drive to learn and lead others.How You'll Make An Impact:


  • Be a coach and mentor for software developers to foster their career growth and experience.
  • Encourage and support a culture of learning among software engineers.
  • Create an engineering culture with a high bar for ownership, quality and collaboration.
  • Encourage and support software developers to practice software development best practices.
  • Provide hands-on leadership on software architecture designs and implementation.
  • Be an agile coach and mentor of software developers with a focus on rapid development cadences, continuous deployment methodologies and delivering incremental value to customers.
  • Collaborate with product marketing and other stakeholders to ensure that our products provide the best possible customer experience.
  • Manage Employee performance, set clear guidelines, develop and monitor employee goals, hold employees accountable and reward employees for superior performance.
    What You Bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technology discipline or equivalent experience.
    • 4+ years management experience with a record of accomplishment in delivering commercial software solutions.
    • 8+ years of commercial software development experience.
    • Deep compassion for people - both those around you, and those who will use the products you build.
    • Proven ability to coach engineers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers.
    • Solid understanding of object-oriented design, programming concepts and design patterns.
    • Demonstrated experience with test automation and continuous delivery /deployment: TDD, unit/integration/functional testing, CI/CD.
    • Deep understanding of the agile development processes and effective engineering practices for the full software development life cycle.
    • Highly collaborative, able to work across disciplines effectively with product marketing, hardware engineering, and product management teams.

Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
