Occupational Health Collections Supervisor

Job Description:
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to
the following:
- Reviewing and actively working Occupational Health (OH)
accounts with balances and minimizing OH Accounts Receivable
days;
- Meeting with the Third Party Administrators (TPAs) to develop
relationships and efficient processes for handling claim payments
and claims;
- Contacting employers directly to review balances;
- Generating reports weekly on OH Accounts Receivable and
distributing to the OH Operations Manager and Vice President,
Occupational Health and Supply Chain;
- Working with the Client Service Specialists and Workers'
Compensation Insurance Representatives and updating accounts as
needed;
- Working with the OH sales staff to address employers with
needed account updates and outstanding balances;
- Working with additional collection personnel as assigned;
- Transferring claims to personal accounts and adjusting accounts
through proper approval procedures as needed;
- Meeting weekly with the OH Operations Manager;
- Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of OH collections and
making recommendations to the OH Operations Manager on
opportunities for better performance of the department's objectives
and higher client satisfaction;
- Filing appeals for unpaid line items and working with TPAs to
address inaccurate reimbursements;
- Implementing Workers' Compensation contracts and evaluating
appropriate reimbursement;
- Assisting the OH Operations Manager and Vice President,
Occupational Health and Supply Chain as required;
- Adhering to all policies and procedures;
- Using, maintaining, and operating office equipment as
trained.Minimum education and professional requirements include,
but are not limited to, the following:
- Employee must be 18 years of age or older;
- Associate degree or higher in Business Management or related
field of study preferred;
- Background in accounts receivable collections, occupational
health, or business preferred;
- Knowledge of workers' compensation, physical examinations, and
group health insurance;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required;
- Excellent telephone skills;
- Ability to prioritize and deal with numerous tasks at one
time;
- Ability to work flexible hours;
- Ability to travel (minimal) as required;
- Self-starter with an ability to work well with individuals and
groups;
- Typing and computer skills required including Microsoft Office
applications;
- Ability to handle requests and concerns;
- Ability to make decisions and troubleshoot incoming telephone
calls;
- Successful completion of orientation in accordance with the
Orientation Policy;
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods (possibly
4-7 hours at a time).
- Occasionally must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
