We develop and operate one of the largest-scale software platforms. The fleet consists of millions of virtual machines, generating terabytes of logs and processing exabytes of data per day. At our scale, we observe cloud hardware, network, and operating system faults, and our software must gracefully shield our customers from any of the above.
Job Role: Software Engineer, Observability Platform Team
Responsibilities include:

• Developing observability solutions that provide insights into the health and performance of our products and infrastructure.
  
• Building the next generation of observability platforms supporting billions of active time series and processing petabytes of logs daily.
  
• Managing infrastructure across nearly a hundred cloud regions to enable monitoring of our product's reliability.
  
• Developing workflows to accelerate incident diagnosis, leveraging Databricks' data platform capabilities.
  
• Upleveling monitoring and reliability practices by developing tools for managing logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards, and oncall rotations.
  
• Mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence within the team and broader community.
  
  Qualifications:
  

• 
  
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.
  
• 7+ years of experience in languages such as Go, Python, Java, Scala, Rust, C++, or similar.
  
• Experience managing large projects involving multiple teams.
  
• Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  
• Knowledge of observability infrastructure, monitoring patterns, and reliability practices.
