ABOUT THE POSITION

As the Global Sourcing Lead, you will lead the seasonal source strategy process and execution to meet the immediate capacity needs for all apparel, equipment, and accessories product by responsibly placing the right product at the right factory for effective utilization and maximized profitability. You will partner with Brand cross-functional teams and various market Regions to understand the Company's direction and in-season business needs and develop strategies to support. In addition, you will assist in the development of the long-range global source direction for the Mountain Hardwear Brand.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Manage the seasonal product calendar for sourcing and costing with consideration and alignment to cross-functional calendar dates and timelines.
Assist in building the long-range source strategy and oversee the seasonal source plan execution with adherence to deadlines and alignment to the strategy and factory capacity and capabilities.
Determine new source opportunities thru understanding of current and future global apparel trends, trade regulations, and company direction.
Develop strong and stable partnerships with our suppliers and directly influence performance improvement and drive best product execution
Lead the securing of vendor seasonal development and production capacity and ensure issues are monitored and resolved throughout the season.
Work with product team and vendors to drive profitability and provide engineering expertise for Mountain Hardwear Brand and Regions.
Ensure cost accuracy with vendors, liaison office, and conduct in depth cost analysis to meet or exceed season margin target.
Lead predictable and competitive cost initiatives and projects. Support product development and product team in cost estimate and proto costing process
Explore ways to create leverage for the Columbia Sportswear brands and ensure alignment of apparel and material sourcing strategies.
Lead and influence cross-functional projects that positively impact Sourcing, Costing, buy ready, production flow, capacity utilization and other manufacturing related areas.
Direct the creation and maintenance of tools that support reporting and analytical needs that drive key source decisions.
Perform other duties as assigned
Mentor, share knowledge, and train others both inside and outside the department.
YOU ARE
Able to conduct complex business operations, manage interpersonal interactions, develop and cultivate personal and professional relationships within and outside the company. Ability to work well with individuals of different countries and cultures
Able to deal with work and time pressures to accomplish job requirements in an efficient and effective manner
YOU HAVE
Bachelor's degree in business, apparel/textiles, manufacturing, or related experience.
8+ years direct or relevant experience of garment manufacturing including, sourcing, costing, development, manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of materials and functional aspects of garments as well as global trade agreements and regulations
Strong analytical and organizational skills
An understanding of ambiguity and can work in a quickly evolving and dynamic environment
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Pivot Tables, BI, and Access preferred
Role may require 50+ hours per week, usually with 8-10 hour days. Attendance at evening/weekend meetings may be required
As COVID related travel restrictions lift, position requires travel internationally, approximately 25% of time
