looking for Field Data Collectors to administer important surveys
and collect data for Youth, Health, and Education Surveys!
we are looking for on-call Field Data Collectors to join our Survey
Research Practice. A talented community of survey researchers, we
build robust solutions for government, university, and commercial
clients. ICF survey products aim to demonstrate quality,
credibility, reliability, innovation, responsiveness, and
transparency. We have the largest and most extensive history in
conducting the CDC's behavioral risk factor surveillance surveys
(BRFSS); Youth risk behavior surveys (YRBS) and other health
surveys at the national, state, community, and cross-international
level; data coordinating and statistical support services; as well
as internationally renowned transformative projects such as the
Demographic and Health Survey.
These positions will be located throughout the continental US and
will require travel (> 50%) and in-person facilitation
activities at collections sites, schools, ICF offices, and other
physical locations.
What you will do:
* Receive assignments via the Internet. This will require the
candidate to have a personal electronic device with reliable
internet access for receiving and sending information.
* Travel among schools in each location (TBD) to administer a web
survey to 1-4 classes per school.
* Speak in front of large and diverse groups, comprised of
individuals of differing ages, backgrounds, and language
abilities.
* Build rapport with others and eliciting engagement and
collaboration from survey participants.
* Serve as a representative of ICF to the client, working with them
to solve both simple and difficult/complex logistical and
operational situations in a calm and professional manner.
* Act as on-site liaison with school personnel.
* May coordinate scheduling and follow-up on non-respondents and
conduct makeup sessions.
* Perform quality control on the collected information and package
it for return to the survey processing center.
* Complete required web-based documentation for each visited
classroom.
* Maintain detailed logs and progress reports.
What you will need to have:
* Professional degree or equivalent years of direct work experience
within an education, research, or customer service role.
* Previous public speaking experience.
* Experience in field data collection, survey/social science
research, sales, marketing, and/or customer service.
* Ability to lift, carry, and transport up to 30 lbs. of data
collection materials between classrooms and schools.
* A personal cell phone for use in the field and possession of a
reliable, personal electronic device to conduct work and email
correspondence upon.
* Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% or more.
* Good driving record, valid driver's license, and able to drive
long distances within TBD Region within the continental US.
* Must be authorized to work in the US
What we would love for you to have:
* Prior experience working with children and adolescents,
particularly in high school settings.
* Computer skills, including navigating the Internet, using web
applications, emailing, and attaching files, and reasonable typing
speed
* Extremely well-organized, with a strong eye for detail
* Ability to adhere to strict time schedules and arrive on time and
prepared for all appointments
