Job Description:
Provides technical consultation to the workforce, project teams
and leadership on a wide range of environmental matters spanning
the design, fabrication, installation, operations and
decommissioning of Chevron assets.Chevron is accepting online
applications for the position of Modernization Compliance
Specialist ---through January 31st at 11:59 p.m. Pacific standard
timeResponsibilities for this position may include but are not

- Ensures that the Refinery maintains compliance with all
Modernization Project construction and operational
requirements.
- Responsible for preparation and submittal of the Annual
Compliance Report to the City of Richmond and stewards the
preparation of the Project's annual report-out at the City's
Planning Commission Hearing.
- Partner with Refinery customers, inc. Operations and
Maintenance, Capital Projects and Technical to provide guidance on
the applicability of Project requirements, evaluate alternatives,
if applicable, and meet regulatory notification and reporting
requirements.
- Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory agency
requests for Project, inc. City and local Air District. Coordinate
and facilitate meetings between agency representatives and Refinery
customers, inc. participating in agency audits to demonstrate
compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support for the Project EIR and BAAQMD
permit condition, including monitoring and reporting.
- Facilitate compliance with other environmental regulations,
including air, water, and hazardous waste. Build subject matter
expertise through methodical reviews of situations and
consideration of alternatives.
- Cite examples, challenge assumptions, and employ technical
experts and legal reviews as needed to fully vet recommendations,
ensure soundness of decisions, and manage confidential information
appropriately.
- Provide effective advocacy with internal and external
stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to communicate the
refinery's positions on applicability of regulations and regulatory
actions.
- Facilitate and report source testing and emergency spill
response and agency release notifications.
- Provide Management of Change (MOC) environmental review.
- Manage key environmental contracts and relationships with
external contractors who provide services for the Project.
- Provide occasional off-hours support, including environmental
on-call rotation and turnaround support coverage.
- Perform error-free work on documents, forms, and reports.
Employ quality reviews and critical thinking skills to identify
follow up items and engage key customers to drive items to
completion.
- NOTE: This is a safety-sensitive position.Preferred
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical or science field.
- Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) process
- Experience in environmental regulatory compliance or related
fields. Refinery or chemical plant experience.
- Knowledge of the Project EIR, MMRP, ECIA and Reliability
Program. Knowledge and application of BAAQMD regulations.
- Experience working with PI Vision to trend/monitor operating
parameters.
- Experience with Sphera Essential Suites database.Required

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to interpret complex environmental regulations for
multiple media, including air quality, water quality, and hazardous
waste.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively influence beyond function,
lead, communicate, and facilitate at all levels.
- Ability to compose concise, clear communications and
notifications to agencies, and represent the Refinery in
face-to-face meetings.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated
ability to align multi-functional stakeholder groups, including
management.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative: anticipate situations,
identify issues and close gaps, and involve the appropriate
stakeholders in recommendations and the decision-making
process.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Suite, with emphasis on Excel,
Outlook, Powerpoint, and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to reliably produce error free work.
- Demonstrated ability to complete multiple high priority and
complex assignments concurrently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment
- NOTE: HSE staff at this location are subject to Transportation

- The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is
listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The
selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on his
or her skills, experience, and qualifications. Please note that the
compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to
successful candidates who are hired onto local United States
payroll.
- The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,700 -
$181,700.
