Job Description:
Chemical Process Operator needed for a contract opportunity with
Yoh Scientific's client located in Richmond, CA. This position is
for a molecular diagnostics manufacturer and the team is looking
for candidates with ahigh school diploma or equivalent is required.
An associate degree with a chemical/biological background is highly
desired. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm.
Responsibilities The person who fills this position is an important
production team player at the Richmond Chemical Plant where process
chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and
other specialized life science products are produced. You will
operate, monitor, control, and troubleshoot batch and continuous
chemical processes. -
- Work with high collaboration and teamwork within the CPO group
and other departments to help achieve business goals.
- Champion the site's safety culture by following all safety
policies while proactively identifying and reporting potential
safety issues. Follow all procedures when handling chemicals to
ensure all chemicals are disposed of according to regulations.
Adhere to all safety protocols of the production process,
especially on storing chemicals, recording information in SAP,
operating machines, and disposing of materials, chemicals, and
biologics. Ensures a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain a level of operational discipline while executing
assigned tasks that are performed according to standard operating
procedures. You may weigh, measure, prepare, mix, monitor, and
adjust chemical materials while operating large-scale reactors and
other equipment used to produce life science research products.
Collect samples of chemical solutions prepared and perform in-line
product testing to resolve simple chemical issues before completing
the production process.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of required policies,
procedures, quality standards, good manufacturing practices, and
safety environmental regulations through the development and
demonstration of excellent documentation skills as required by
local, federal, and company regulations.
- Perform equipment cleaning and batch preparation, including
communication with maintenance. Communicates inventory, planning,
and quality issues to supervisor or appropriate department partner.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate
degree with a chemical/biological background is highly
desired.
- The ability to speak, read and write professionally, in
English, is required.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and be detail oriented.
Chemical/biological production experience preferred, especially in
a regulated environment.
- Intermediate-level math and analytical skills with the ability
to convert units of measure and calculate ratios are required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools - Excel and Word
are needed. Experience working with ERP systems, SAP is a
plus.
- Experience working in compliance with hazardous material
regulations and wastewater handling is helpful. Knowledge of
handling reactors is a plus. Opportunity is Calling, Apply Now!
