You will work on hard problems at scale and will have the freedom to innovate.About the TeamYou will be part of a team that owns Core Data Path (CDP), located in either San Jose, California, or RTP (Research Triangle Park), North Carolina. CDP is an integral part of most Nutanix products and solutions. Nutanix Acropolis Data Storage Fabric (DSF) is the core of the Nutanix HCI platform. It manages all metadata and data, enabling core storage features. DSF connects storage and compute resources, providing scalability, resiliency, and performance. Stargate service is a primary component in DSF, handling I/O paths, serving client read/write requests, and offering storage features like flow-control, data avoidance, and data reduction. The CDP QA team seeks engineers who align with our values and are passionate about systems software and quality.You will report to the Sr. Director, who believes in a hands-on leadership style that encourages team involvement in coding, debugging, and tool development. The manager emphasizes individual contributions and development within a supportive environment. This role requires on-site work five days a week.This position does not require travel, allowing team members to focus entirely on their work within the office environment, ensuring consistent collaboration and communication with peers.Your Role:

• Architect, design, and develop test strategies and plans for features in Nutanix Distributed Filesystem.
• Understand complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions for customer requirements.
• Work on performance, scalability, and resiliency of distributed storage systems.
• Collaborate with development, testing, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Engage with customers and support teams to resolve production issues.
• Work with product management to understand user needs and investigate customer use cases for Nutanix Distributed Filesystem features on Cloud.
• Design test strategies, develop test cases based on customer scenarios, and work closely with developers to understand product features.
• Maintain and execute test cases from the internal continuous build server (JITA).
• Automate scalability tests and build telemetry or validators to identify bottlenecks.
• Execute automated and manual tests, fix bugs, extend frameworks, and automate test cases for storage stack testing.
• Perform regression and exploratory testing, document new test scenarios, and work with developers to analyze failures.
• File and track defects to closure.What you'll bring:
  • Experience in software testing, including test case development, automation frameworks, and tools.
  • Experience testing file systems, storage systems, databases, operating systems, networking, or systems administration.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented languages like Python, Java, Golang.
  • Preferred experience in distributed systems and virtualization.
  • Extensive knowledge of networked storage systems or related fields, with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of database management, operating systems, and algorithms.The pay range at the start of employment is expected to be between USD $182,400 and $364,800 per year. Compensation may vary based on factors like location, skills, and experience, and may include bonuses, stock units, and benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid leave.This role is on-site, facilitating face-to-face collaboration with the team. Additional guidance will be provided by your manager. The position is at-will, with the company reserving the right to modify compensation and benefits.
