Operate a wide range of equipment including metrology equipment, processing equipment.Reporting to Zygo Extreme Precision Optics Group in Richmond, CA. Zygo EPO is a leading-edge optics company working in the field of optical component and subsystem design and manufacture to the highest tolerances and requirements in the world. Generate a consistent flow of high-quality work through a class 100 cleanroom. Collaborate with supervisors and planning group to meet on-time delivery schedules. Assist in continually improving procedures and methods with a mind toward efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES Supports design-of-experiments and customer process developmentHandle chemicals, solutions, and chemical waste in a safe and appropriate mannersWorks in controlled environments where strict rules and procedures must be followed to prevent contamination.Perform difficult and complex set-ups and operate machine on assignments, under minimal supervision with direction from engineering or area supervisorUse metrology equipment such as interferometers and profilometers to measure results of processRun software analysis routines on data to prepare machine control programsLoad parts and programs onto machines and successfully execute operations as directedHandle and clean optical components without downgrading the surfacesMaintain a clean an orderly work environment by following cleaning schedules and inventory controlPerform maintenance and preventatives maintenance on equipment and toolingIntegrate, troubleshoot and repair complex processesPerform tasks involving high precision and detailAssist in developing procedures for new products including initiating corrections and improvementsDefine and procure process tooling as requiredMeet schedules and standard times and qualityAssist with training of lower level techniciansFunctions with very limited direction or supervision according to build schedule REQUIREMENTS 0-3 years of related industry experience with an A.S. degree in a technical discipline or a technical high school degree and related technical experience is preferredCleanroom 100/1000: 2 years (Preferred)Highly preferred working hands-on preferably with mechanical and/or electrical parts using precision tools. Must be able to work in Full PPE (Full Gown, mask,gloves, & Booties).Experience in manufacturing environmentExperience with troubleshooting of complex processesTeam player with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and understand technical drawings and documentationCareful, well organized and detail orientedStrong computer skills including MS Work and ExcelStrong math skillsMust have experience working within a multi-disciplined manufacturing teamMust have excellent organizational skillsMust have strong interpersonal skillsDue to cleanroom regulatory requirements, wearing makeup is not allowed to include fake eyelashes, drawn on eyebrows, fake nails, and nail polish (or any other makeup). Good hygiene skills required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
