world a better placeWHAT YOU'LL DOUnder general supervision,
responsible for repair, adjustment, and maintenance of
manufacturing machines and equipment. - Evaluates requests for
repair and determines corrective action. - Performs preventative
maintenance as well as general maintenance on assigned equipment. -
Troubleshoots and conducts periodic inspections to determine
maintenance work required. - Provides leadership to lower-level
machine mechanic staff.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance in accordance with PM
list instructions
- Performs unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment as
directed
- Operates machines to perform tooling and equipment maintenance
support including, but not - - - -limited to, milling, drilling,
reaming, turning of various materials
- Alters and repairs a wide variety of jigs, tools, fixtures, and
gages
- Fabricates new shop aids and support systems including
plumbing, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems for
facilities infrastructure to enhance productivity
- Participates in safety and TQP teams relevant to maintenance
and safety
- Diagnoses causes of equipment failure and determines best
course of action for unscheduled maintenance
- Sets up and operates machines to perform any combination of
machining operations required for tooling and equipment maintenance
support including milling, drilling, reaming, or turning various
materials
- Plans, constructs, alters and repairs a wide variety of jigs,
tools, fixtures, and gages to very close tolerances
- Work with Engineers and Production staff to eliminate causes of
failures, including changes to PM requirements and machine design
modifications
- Oversees tooling, repair and installation projects
- Designs and fabricates new shop aids and support systems
including plumbing, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems for
facilities infrastructure to enhance productivity
- Other related duties, as assigned
- Work closely with contractors to facilitate repairs or
preventative maintenance jobs or tasks WHAT YOU NEED TO
KNOWHigh/Trade School Diploma or equivalentMinimum 6 years related
experience including equipment maintenance and upkeep, tooling
fabrication and facilities infrastructureFamiliar with electrical,
mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and apparatus
repairAbility to safely operate equipment used for milling,
drilling, and turningUnderstands basic optical equipment
operationsUnderstanding of electrical and HVAC diagnosis and repair
is preferredFollows prescribed safety rules and regulationsAbility
to accurately read and interpret blueprintsWorking knowledge of
shop mathWorks effectively in a team-oriented environmentLicensed
for forklift operatorBasic Rigging experience for small to medium
